Please let us know if you discover a problem with a footpath in the Upper Calder and Ryburn Valley area – for example:
- overgrown vegetation (eg nettles, brambles, trees, bushes etc};
- excess water/mud/drainage issues;
- damage to stiles/gates/steps/boardwalks/bridges;
- storm damage/unstable and/or slippery slopes;
- blockages on a path;
- poor signage.
We will survey the problem to make sure it is something we can tackle. Even when we can it may take some time to get it done, for various reasons:
- sometimes we have a backlog;
- some jobs require us to get the landowner’s permission;
- if it’s a big job, we may need to secure funding;
- we may need to wait for better weather.
- if we find a blockage has been caused deliberately we may need to pass this on to Calderdale Council to take action.
